Welcome to the latest edition of Open Tabs! I wrote and gathered most of these links earlier in the month and just hadn’t gotten around to finishing/sending it. But what’s most prominently on my mind right now is the recent overturn of Roe vs. Wade here in the U.S. (this happened 2 days ago). I’m still processing but I added a few quick links to read up on that, and places you can donate.
Well, it seems we’ve reached the middle of 2022 already! The summer solstice is just days away—or maybe it’s days past, by the time I send this. Either way, the year is passing, and I’ve failed to keep up with this series. It’s almost laughable to point out my inconsistency every time I send out an issue of the newsletter—perhaps I should accept that this isn’t a monthly/regular thing for me and move forward.
Anyways, I do like putting these posts together (when I remember), and I’ve got about 5 months of consumptions to share with you! I’m going to keep my commentary on each item brief (or maybe no comment at all), because I’d rather just share a big list of things I’ve enjoyed. You can peruse at your leisure!
Here’s what I’ve watched, read, listened to, googled, and…idk, otherwise experienced? since January.

Watching:
Archive 81 (Netflix): This show got me through a rough weekend of the flu—I watched series twice, back to back.
Barry (HBO): I just finished watching the latest season. The final episode was…trippy.
Umbrella Academy (Netflix): I’m rewatching the first 2 seasons before the 3rd season is released. (Update: I’ve started the 3rd season and I’m…conflicted thus far. Not sure how I’m feeling about it.)
My Brilliant Friend (HBO): I binged the first 2 seasons and I am OBSESSED. I need to read the series now, then I will go back and enjoy the show all over again. Hopefully the fourth season will be out by then.

Other Stuff:
Storygraph: I finally made a Storygraph (or rather, I’ve finally decided to try using it). I like the visuals and stats of this app better, and would like to eventually transfer fully away from Goodreads. (username: courtneymminor)
Thinking about sending out a piece of short fiction/creative writing (my own) through the newsletter ~once a month but I’m kind of hesitant. I don’t know if there are already too many different types of newsletters being sent out through this one outlet, but it’s something I’m considering!
AbortionFunds.org: Please donate to abortion funds! The abortion funds network (linked) splits donations between about 80 independent funds around the country. You can also find your local fund on their site and donate to them directly.
Thanks for reading/browsing today’s newsletter. Maybe I’ll make this a quarterly thing, since I clearly can’t keep up with a monthly edition.
Follow me on Instagram and Goodreads for regular updates. I’m trying to use Twitter more often too!
